ILEAD 2016 Day 10: Wednesday July 13, 2016
Journal Entry: Abe Jemal & Rachel Wahba
Subject: Speak. Drive.View. Cook.

Following our 3:15 AM arrival back to Alon Tavor after hours of sheep watching, our counselors treated us to a 9:30 AM wake up followed by 10:15 AM Shaharit.
After Tefillah we met with Adam for the second public speaking lecture this summer. We learned about the importance of body language while portraying a message, and the different struggles of appealing to the audience through either the message or the messenger. After the lecture we got on the bus and drove to Tranctoron Dishon where we drove ATVs. It was very fun getting to use our new driving skills in a new environment. We stopped at the top of the mountain to see a lookout.

Next we went to Misgav Am and listened to a man named Ariel share his views of Israel and its surrounding countries. The place was on the border of Lebanon and had a panoramic view of Syria, Lebanon, Israel, and the Mediterranean Sea from the windows. The breeze on the top of the mountain was amazing and we prayed mincha with the wind blowing in our faces. The view was breathtaking.

After this long day we arrived back at the Alon Tavor Field School and helped make dinner. We had a full salad bar that was washed and prepared by 5 pioneers and grilled chicken that was barbecued by us as well. This was in honor of Jane’s birthday! Happy Birthday Jane! After we cleaned up dinner we were surprised with phone time and got to reconnect with the outside world! We can’t wait for the packed day we have tomorrow!
