ILEAD 2016 – The Journey Begins….
Good morning – I am sure you are missing your Pioneers after the long weekend.
They have gotten off to a great start and are starting to experience their new reality for 30 days. Their phones have been checked and they are starting to connect to themselves, those around them and the land.
Please see below blog post from 2 of our Pioneers on their first day’s journey. We also included a link to pics and vids from the first day of action.
Today was day one of the ILEAD experience. We landed at about 12:30 and got off at the Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv. We met our enthusiastic counselors and we were on our way. We stopped at a beautiful Yemenite Synagogue to pray Mincha. We had an interesting discussion about Pirke Avot. Then we were off to our campsites up North.
When we got to the campsite we were split into groups and given various tasks. We built a tent which we will sleep in for the next couple of nights, cleaned bathrooms, and helped our chef/bus driver Shlomo, prepare dinner. After dinner we broke into discussions with our counselors and got to know each other a little bit better. Finally we got our sleeping bags and equipment and set up our tents to sleep. Day one was so adventurous, we can’t wait to see what else is in store!
